Located in the Sierra Madre mountains, Lake Huites is a great producer of quality bass. The fish are aggressive and will take an assortment of lures. Catches in excess of 100 bass in a day of fishing have been recorded at this lake.

Comments: The bass fishing on Lake Huites has been good to excellent with great numbers of largemouth up to 4 pounds and a real nice mix of 7 to 8 pounders showing up around the full moon ...we have had 2 bass over 11 pounds to report in the last 60 days...Huites continues to be a great lake for numbers and we are hoping to start seeing more trophy bass.

Comments: Jeff Pope and John Lawson in 7 days on the water caught over 1600 bass with a 10.2 pound largemouth being the biggest....need we say more ?

Comments: My friend Blake and I had a remarkable Mexico Bass Fishing trip at Lake Huites! The weather was perfect, staff was super, food fantastic and of course bass fishing was second to none. This was our 2nd visit to the lodge and it was as good and even better than before. Manuel and the staff extended every courtesy and made our stay memorable! Food was the most improvement. Our thanks to the cooking staff. Our Guide Jose knew where to take us and we did get a 10lb bass, 9lb, an 8 , 6’s and many 3-5 lbs largemouth bass. We averaged approx 70 fish per day and the weather was perfect.

Comments: Excellent bass fishing with up to 80 bass a day and one over 10 pounds reported from the Baum group returning today...As always lots of action at Lake Huites and we are now seeing the bigger bass.

Comments: Fishing could not be better at Lake Huites right now according to Manuel Salazar with groups catching over 150 bass per day per boat with excellent topwater action. Many, many 7 pound bass reported with Hank Gempler catching a skinny 10.2 lber. November has always been excellent for numbers of black bass and has produced some good spinnerbait and topwater action. The boats that have fished in the dirty water have done better than the boats fishing in the clear water.

Comments: The first group of bass anglers arrived at Lake Huites on Oct 1st. Excellent numbers of fish on crankbaits....... 9.1, 9.2 8.3, 8.2, 8.0 were the biggest bass caught over the last couple of days - crankbaits working very well and the numbers of fish caught also being outstanding. Lake Huites is in excellent shape holding at about 95% pool.

Comments: We don't normally fish Lake Huites this time of year but we did have to make a run to the lodge. I'm certainly glad we did. The bass fishing proved to be outstanding. The sheer numbers of bass being caught in August was incredible. Using medium crank baits, paralleling the banks and the canyons, I think without exaggeration, you could almost catch a fish on every cast. Spinner baits ripped across the top of the water were producing some earth shattering explosions. Our favorite place on the lake called the aquarium as usual held the biggest fish, with several weighing in over eight pounds. Manuel has done a great job upgrading the lodge this summer and we hope to see you down there!

Comments: We just experienced the best fishing there since 2001 - off the chart numbers and unbelievable quality. A little proof – think about Gale Vaught’s story - 70 plus fish over five pounds during his fishing trip, one day cranking out 230 fish for the boat. We have seen a large number of fish in the eight to nine pound class, myself lucky enough to catch one over nine in January of 2010. Shane Ryal caught a beautiful 10.7. Lake Huites does not get much fanfare these days but it’s certainly worthy of being in the top echelon. We encourage you to give Huites a try. If you were lucky enough to fish the lake ten years ago, you will know what you are missing by not fishing it now. Look over the reports for yourself

Comments: April bass fishing was a litttle slow the first part of the month but the last week it has red hot with many black bass up to 9 1/2 pounds. Post spawn on Lake Huites has always been excellent and should continue excellent results until the end of the fishing season. Most boats catching over 130 bass for the day with many fish 5 to 8 pounds.

Comments: Big numbers and big bass according to Manuel Salazar. Excellent bite on crankbaits very good numbers of topwater bass in the early morning. Some boats reporting good numbers of 6 to 7 pound bass with 11.1 being the big fish of the week caught on a 6 inch shad swimbait.
