Rio
Negro Lodge
Home of World Record Peacock Bass
Rio Negro Lodge is only a 20 minute boat ride from where
the 27 pound IGFA all tackle world record peacock bass
was caught in 1994. Since the lodge was completed in
late October of 1998, lodge anglers have experienced
excellent fishing with peacock bass up to 26 pounds
being caught. Rio Negro Lodge opened in October of 1998
and offers peacock bass anglers the finest in land based
accommodations in the heart of Brazil's world record
peacock bass fishing. The lodge is located 60 river
miles upriver from Barcelos on the southern bank of the
famous Rio Negro River. The location for the Rio Negro
Lodge was carefully selected in the heart of Brazil's
finest trophy peacock bass fishery.
The Lodge
Spacious and air conditioned, the main lodge spans 5,000
square feet beneath a verdant jungle canopy. The lodge
serves as a hub for fine dining and fellowship while the
private cabins form spokes for solitude. Located on
paths winding through the lush rain forest grounds of
the Rio Negro Lodge, the cabins feature
air conditioning, queen-sized beds, private baths with
hot water, walk-in showers, a sitting area and a covered
porch. Beautiful views. Absolute comfort. The property
incorporates handcrafted woods, slate floors and
thatched roofs, creating dramatic beauty against the
exotic jungle backdrop. And our guests will enjoy
resort-level amenities like daily laundry service, a
private beach and fine dining. The lodge is equipped
with a state-of-the-art satellite phone communication
system for seamless contact with the outside world.
Guests may leave the lodge phone number for home or
business use. Be aware, however, that this phone costs
$4.00/minute for incoming and outgoing calls!
Anglers
who choose to use the Rio Negro Lodge as a home base
depart each morning by Nitro bass boat or floatplane and
return each night for rest and relaxation. Daily we will
wake you at 5:30 am for breakfast and Peacock Bass
fishing. Your guide will be ready at the dock in the
morning with rods, reels, tackle, and a cooler of
drinks. You can fish as long as you like up until 5pm.
We require that the guides return on time to ensure all
the guest arrive back safely as it gets dark around 6pm.
